Capacity development program on Construction Audit for Internal Auditors – Batch II

A weeklong capacity development program on Construction Audit for Internal Auditors – Batch II started today at the Professional Development Centre.

The training program is aimed to enhance knowledge and skills of internal auditors in construction audit. Participants from different ministries, autonomous bodies and dzongkhags will learn the key elements of construction audit such as Interpretation of drawings; Understanding cost and estimations; Review of rate analysis; Quantification of labour and material consumption, and machine hours for departmentally executed works; and Audit of road works.

Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Finance graced the opening session of the training virtually. Dasho motivated the participants to start the training with introspection on the role of internal auditor and challenges in performing it. Dasho encouraged them to shift their reasoning to a pro-active mindset and perform duties selflessly in pursuit fulfilling His Majesty’s aspirations of promoting and ensuring stronger public accountability. She also urged the participants to make effective use the resource persons from RAA to enhance their skills in construction audit and offered good wishes for fruitful learning program.

The training program is a collaborative capacity development effort between the Central Coordinating Agency, Ministry of Finance and the Royal Audit Authority. It is scheduled to conclude on 19th November 2021.
