A three-day capacity development program on audit of hydropower project for the second batch began yesterday at the Professional Development Centre in Tsirang resourced by the two Hydropower experts from Bernard Gruppe, Austria.
The course will have following sessions to achieve its learning objective:
• Contract management in Hydropower Projects;
• Types of contracts specific to Hydro power;
• DFR vs. Actual implementation;
• Contract interpretation;
• Fund and Resource allocation for Pre-feasibility study at DPR stage;
• Preparation of Tender Documents;
• Application of cost escalation and price adjustment;
• Parameters used for rate analysis globally;
• Cases of ambiguous contract clauses and its resolutions;
• Case studies related to some failed projects;
• Best practices to handle closure of failed Hydro power projects; and
• Risk areas in Hydropower construction activities and best practices to address such issues.
The Program Director of the institute welcomed the participants and opened the training highlighting the importance of Hydropower Project Audits. The Head, Austrian Coordination Office and Hon’ble Auditor General jointly graced the opening session.
Thirty three Auditors from RAA HQ and Regional Offices are attending the course. The training is funded by Austrian Development Agency and scheduled to conclude on 3rd December 2022.
