{"id":1773,"date":"2019-09-29T09:21:03","date_gmt":"2019-09-29T03:21:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pdc.gov.bt\/?p=1773"},"modified":"2019-10-29T10:29:41","modified_gmt":"2019-10-29T04:29:41","slug":"y-peer-coordination-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.pdc.gov.bt\/?p=1773","title":{"rendered":"Y-PEER Coordination Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Department of Youth and Sports (DYS), MoE in collaboration with the representatives of various colleges and TTIs conducted a two-day coordination meeting at the RAA Professional Development Center in Damphu, Tsirang from 27-28 September 2019.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The primary objective of the meeting is to interact with the Management of Colleges\/TTIs where the Y-PEER Networks are based and strengthen collaboration with them to enable Y-PEER Networks to function effectively and systematically.<\/p>\n<p>Chaired by the Director General of DYS, MoE, the meeting discussed various aspects of Y-PEER, its benefits to youth and the support the Networks are receiving from the Management. The participants were introduced to the core mandates and functions of Y-PEER to understand of the importance of such an initiatives. The participants shared updates on various initiatives and its benefits to their students\/trainees. The participants also looked into various challeng and discussed ways to address them.<\/p>\n<p>Y-PEER Bhutan was set up in 2012 as part of the global network to promote Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) amongst young people through peer-to-peer approach and create public advocacy on emerging youth concerns through various peer-led initiatives thereby promoting the psycho-social health &amp; wellbeing of the youth.
